Brazelton Auto was founded in 2002 with the simple premise that the car business should be simple and straightforward. Going to the dealership has historically been ranked alongside going to the proctologist (for a similar reason). It’s an adversarial relationship, where the dealer is constantly trying to get an extra dollar out of your pocket. At Brazelton, we are fee based and transparent. We consider ourselves a service company, not a sales company.
Since we don’t advertise, our growth comes only from word of mouth, so we have to deliver every day. What started as two people in a small office handling strictly leasing has grown today to almost 20 people dedicated to new and used cars as well as a full service repair facility on 1.5 acres.
Meet our Dysfunctional Family
Lewis started the company in 2002, after running two other automotive business prior. Interestingly, Lewis never worked for a dealership he didn’t run. That means; 1) he never developed the habits that are typical of the industry, and 2) he learned a lot of lessons the hard way.
Lewis and his wife Cindie have been married for over 30 years and have three unmarried daughters in their twenties (so needs to sell a lot of cars!). When not working or home, you’ll find him at church or mentoring with Young Life at Sharpstown High School, abusing his Raptor truck, or in South Texas hunting.
Bill manages the sales side of Brazelton Auto and has a true passion for the business and cars. His first job in the business was stacking tires during the Firestone recall in 2001 where he worked off his freshman fifteen. He worked his way up at various dealerships through parts, sales, and sales management. Tired of the typical dealership culture and wanting a career that would give him a better family life, Bill entered the real estate world. But if you know Bill, he’s a car NUT, and he couldn’t stay away.
Bill grew up in Houston and attended Texas Christian University for a couple years before transferring to Northwood University receiving a degree in Automotive Management. Bill has also received a MBA from University of Houston.
Bill and his wife Colleen have two kids and Riley the “hunting” dog. On weekends you can find Bill working on or driving his 1986 Jeep CJ-7 or 1950 Ford F-1 Pick-Up. Bill also enjoys hunting and playing tennis.
Debbie handles all of Brazelton Auto's back office functions for the sales department including titles, loan and lease approvals, and deal documents. Debbie has worked with Lewis since 2001 (two companies).
In her free time, Debbie spends time with her family and taking care of the many pets she has rescued over the years.
Sarah has been in the auto industry since 2009. We met her when she handled our account at the Audi dealership. Despite her efficiency and high volume, she never sacrificed service to her clients. She left the industry and went into insurance for a while, before we were able to hire her.
Sarah is active with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, where she is a captain on the Steer Auction Committee and also recently joined the Muttin Bustin Committee. She recently completed her 2nd MS150, and when she can squeeze it in, she loves to travel.
Gabe manages our used car searches. Gabe started in the commercial truck business and cold called on us for our leasing abilities in 2017. We liked him so much, we stole him. Then we nicknamed him “Nacho” (because we’re politically correct like that).
Gabe is currently engaged and loves spending time with his family. He’s also a gym rat. You can find him working out at 5 am every weekday.
Eric started with us as a porter. It didn’t take long to recognize this young man has talent, and he moved up into the service advisor role. In addition to helping our clients, Eric handles all of our make-ready for inventory vehicles.
Despite his full-time workload, Eric has worked his way through college and should graduate this spring. He rarely sits still, so weekends will find him leading the youth group at his church, playing bass guitar on the worship team, or down at Galveston fishing.
Keith has been helping our service clients since 2016. His varied sales career covers the restaurant and security industries, before he tired of the travel and moved to automotive service in 2011.
Married for 45 years, Keith also enjoys singing in the choir at Second Baptist West, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, and any WWII movie. Sometimes, however, it seems his true joy is bad puns!
Matt is a lifelong car guy. He started turning wrenches and is an ASE Master Certified L1 technician (highest you can get). But his preference is serving our clients directly so he moved inside to the service advisor role. He’s also an ASE Certified Service Consultant and Parts Specialist. If there’s an automotive certification out there that Matt doesn’t have, it’s because he doesn’t know about it. It’s not uncommon for Matt to have the car mostly diagnosed before they even pull it into the service bay!
Outside of work Matt still enjoys working on his project cars (including a 69 Ford truck that was his first car) and projects around the house. His weekend productivity is measured by the empty Miller High Life cans in the bed of his truck.
"El" is the rock of our our service department both operationally and spiritually. He started with us in 2007 and he leads the team responsible for all of the vehicle movement (here, dealerships, body shops, homes & offices). And you'd be shocked how much movement there is! El also serves as company chaplain. I don't know anyone who lives out his faith better than El.
Eleazar has been married 16 years and has four kids, including two recently adopted teenagers. When he's not here or teaching Bible study at church, you'll find him waist deep in saltwater fishing.
Modi handles all of Brazelton Auto's accounting and human resources functions and has worked with Lewis through three companies since 1992.
In her spare time Modi enjoys her Jack Russell terrier and quilts (you might have seen her work in our office). She also attends Woodlands United Methodist Church every Sunday.
Natalie started with us simply doing receptionist duties, but it didn't take long to figure out she's capable of so much more. She now handles a lot of the accounting duties, sets up all of our vehicle transports, plus about a thousand other jobs. And all with a smile on her face.
Natalie is engaged to her high school sweetheart. She spends her spare time chasing her two daughters, Bryleigh and Brooke, from gymnastics to dance classes. She enjoys volunteering at their school and hanging out with family and friends.
