Choosing an auto shop to perform your factory scheduled maintenance is like choosing a doctor, it’s best to see one that you are comfortable with and the longer you go to them the better they get to know you and recommend ways to stay healthy. It’s the same thing with factory scheduled maintenance, most people take their vehicles to the dealer because they are not aware of an alternative. Come on into Brazelton Auto where we work hard to be your dealership alternative.

During a factory scheduled maintenance service we usually perform a basic tuneup, rotate tires at 5K miles, check coolant and brake fluid levels, perform motor oil changes, inspect tires, check windscreen or dashboard washing systems, and check to make sure your vehicle is both safe and reliable. Your vehicle’s maintenance guide identifies precisely what services we need to perform at each routine service visit. The required maintenance intervals are already established based on ideal operating circumstances.

Any severe driving conditions may very well require more frequent visits to Brazelton Auto. Keep in mind that your daily commute could be considered severe driving conditions by your manufacturer, stop and go traffic or extreme weather conditions may cause parts, that are vulnerable to wear and tear, to develop cracks or leaks in your engine compartment. When we make assessments about your vehicle based on the factory maintenance schedule, we may ask questions related to your driving style. This way we can suggest a maintenance schedule that works for you and your vehicle.

Our modern facility not only does preventative repairs and maintenance, but is available to increase the overall performance of your vehicle as well. Our goal at Brazelton Auto is to provide you with the best automotive maintenance experience possible.

Tuneup in Houston, TX

The Engine Control Module (ECM) is an inner mechanism that keeps track of the timing and fuel blend. This ECM is constantly performing a “tuneup” in order to maintain peak efficiency.

Older vehicles with carbureted engines, before ECMs were standard, occasionally needed their idle mix and acceleration checked. This “tuneup” commonly occurred at 15,000 miles. Though modern engines don’t require the same service, the word “tuneup” remains a common synonym with routine maintenance.

Though the ECM is in place to keep track of timing and gasoline mixture, various other parts are unmonitored, for instance spark plugs, filtering systems and belts. Our main concern, in the event you bring in your car in for a ‘tuneup’ is to check the above mentioned parts for deterioration and fulfill any specifications as mentioned from the Chevy, Audi, BMW, Infiniti or MINI factory schedule maintenance program.

So if you have any questions about how to best maintain or repair your vehicle, feel free to give us a call, drive on into our shop or schedule an appointment online for a day and time that works best for you!
